  17.    As of 12/31/93 there were 260 public software companies registered
  18.        with the SEC. 127 of these companies had some form of internet
  19.        presence either with a registered network, host or domain. Here's
  20.        the list.

  24.     [IMAGE] Venture Capital Firms on the Net......$1.00
  25.    The following is a list of venture capital firms which own domain
  26.        names on the Net. This list was generated by cross referencing an
  27.        independent list of 850 active venture capital firms against the
  28.        information taken from the InterNIC registry database. While only
  29.        3% of the firms have domain names, they tend to be the larger
  30.        venture firms.

  34.     [IMAGE] Advertising Firms on the Net......$1.00
  35.    If the Internet is the interactive medium of the future, you would
  36.        expect to see a lot of advertising firms on the net. Not yet! We
  37.        cross referenced the Advertising Age's top 100 agencies against
  38.        the InterNIC registry and were only able to find approximately 10%
  39.        of them. Here's the list.

  43.     [IMAGE] Large Public Companies with a Heavy Presence on the Net......$1.00
  44.    We decided to take a look at how many of the large public companies
  45.        had a heavy presence on the Net. We defined large companies as
  46.        having revenue in excess of $1.5 billion based on their most
  47.        recent 10-K filings with the SEC. There were 490 companies that
  48.        met this criterion, roughly the Fortune 500. We defined "Heavy
  49.        Presence" as having 25 or more networks registered with InterNIC.
  50.        Here is a list of the 29 companies that met both criteria. Of the
  51.        490 large public companies reveiwed, 226 had some form of presence
  52.        on Internet.

  60. As of October 15, 1994 there were 334 domains of financial service
  61. firms registered on the Net.  We broadly defined "financial" when
  62. compiling the list to include banks, brokerage firms, insurance
  63. companies, money management firms and even a couple of financial
  64. printers.  We will *not* include Microsoft until their acquisition
  65. of Intuit is approved by the by the financial powers that be.

  67. Most of these financial companies have only joined the Net in the
  68. last 18 months.  We did a frequency analysis by the date they
  69. registered with InterNIC and the results look like this.
